1st Semester Projects
1B (09-10) Art III/IV - Simplified Cartoon Painting
-The students simplified their chosen portrait pictures using a filter in the computer program Adobe Photoshop. Then, they used a grid method to accurately help them enlarge their portraits and draw them on a piece of illustration board. Finally, they painted their portraits.
1B (09-10) Art III/IV - Abstract Glass Formation
-The students spent 2 days creating moulds for their glass to form against. Then, they spent 2 weeks cutting and pasting glass to create these abstract designs.
1B (09-10) Art III/IV - 3D Plaster Paintings
-The students used plaster and drywall mud to build a three-dimensional painting that comes out from their canvas. Enjoy!
1B (09-10) Art III/IV - Enlarged Pencil Drawing
-The students converted pictures to gray-scale and used them as inspiration for their lead pencil drawings. The approximate size of each drawing is about 20" x 15".
2nd Semester Projects
1B (09-10) Art III/IV - Cermaic Coil Heads (Pre-Glazed)
-The Students spent three weeks creating their heads out of red clay. They used a method of ceramics known as coil building to create these ceramic heads. Enjoy!!
1B (09-10) Art III/IV - Glazed Ceramic Coil Heads
-The students applied color to their ceramic heads by using special ceramic paint called glaze. After the glaze was applied the heads were fired for a second time.
1B (09-10) Art III/IV - Famous Artist Reproductions
-The students reviewed many artist's artwork and chose a famous work of art that they wanted to re-create. Then, they used a variety of mediums to finish their project. Enjoy!
1B (09-10) Art III/IV - Creative Color Wheels
-The students used paint to create these color wheel projects. They started by sketching an image in the background and creating a pie-shaped grid over top of their image which has 12 equal sections. Finally, they used the order of the color wheel to fill each individual pie shaped section with the appropriate color. Enjoy!!
1B (09-10) Art III/IV - Ceiling Tiles and Monochromatic Paintings
-The Art III/IV students finished up the year painting. The seniors picked out a ceiling tile in the room and painted their own creative design which will remain hanging in one of the art rooms after they graduate. The juniors painted a monochromatic design of their choice on canvas. Enjoy!
