SHS is "Acting Out!"
April 09, 2009
The Drama Club at SHS is putting on Paul H. Johnson's "Acting Out!" The show will be a one-night-only run, on Thursday, April 16th, and 7 o'clock p.m. in the high school auditorium. The cast is comprised of nearly twenty SHS students, both veterans and first-time actors. It is set in a high school Drama Class and opens at the beginning of a class period. As the students wait for their teacher to show up, they decide to act out scenes they have done for assignments. The SHS students in the cast play not only their own characters but also the characters in the scenes acted out within the play. So, the cast members end up playing multiple roles. Some of the scenes are funny, some are serious, and some present the lives of the characters. Several of the scenes deal with serious, real life situations, like bullying, running away from home, and death, although there are several bits of humor throughout the play. "Acting Out!" will also feature a song, sung by sophomore, Cassie Balazic, and accompanied by freshman, Jacob Newberry, and a dance, choreographed and performed by junior, Tori Schuetz. Admission to the show will be $2.00 and will go to the Seneca High School Drama Club. Please arrive by 6:45 for the show, and be aware that no flash photography or video recording will be allowed.
