Planning for Life After High School

On April 8, 2008 from 5:00 to 7:30 P.M., at LaSalle Peru High School, agencies from LaSalle, Putnam, Bureau and Marshall counties will be on hand to meet with families to provide valuable resources for planning for life after high school. The following workshops will be available:
Session 1 (5:30 to 6:30 PM)
Career Cruising - an interactive computer based career exploration tool. It offers hundreds of detailed occupation profiles and assistance in developing a career portfolio. Computers will be available to students and parents to access the program.

Post secondary accommodations and how to attain them. Illinois Valley community College Disability Services
Session II (6:30 to 7:15 PM)
Learn about Social Security benefits. Social Security Office and DHS (Division of Rehabilitation Services - Work Incentive planning)
