Seneca American Legion Post
Blue Star Banners
May 14, 2007
To Families of former Seneca High School graduates who currently serve in the Armed Forces:
The Seneca American Legion Post wishes to offer you a Blue Star Service Banner free of charge to honor your family member serving in the military. I have tried to compile a list of families to receive this mailing. I realize and regret that I am unaware of some families and I am asking for help in spreading the word. This is open to any family who has a former Seneca High School graduate who has a family member currently serving in any branch of Armed Service as a Reservist or full time member.
Blue Star Banners are displayed in the front window of our homes to show pride in our loved one serving in the military and it reminds others that preserving America's freedom demands much. As my son reminded me, "Mom, it can't always be someone else's son." The service flag is authorized to be displayed during any period of war or hostilities in which the Armed Forces of the United States may be engaged, for the duration of such period.
To receive a Blue Star Banner to hang in your window for this Memorial Day, please contact Mr. James Olson at 815-357-6632.
On behalf of myself and my family, thank you for being one who lives everyday knowing freedom isn't free.
Sincerely,
Cathy Bergstrom
Proud mother of Captain Peter Bergstrom USMC
Proud mother in law of Captain Ben Everett USMC
Proud Aunt of LCpl. John Richmond
